Making Rain!

Mrs. Sullenger did a science unit on weather and the seasons. Every day she read a book about a season, made a web about characteristics of that season, and then the children completed a page in their own little seasons books. The kids LOVED it. They absolutely LOVE anything to do with science or social studies. As a culminating activity for the unit, a parent offered to help us make rain sticks. She got the tubes, drilled holes, and I helped put skewers in the tubes and cover them with tape. Then the children used tissue paper to paper mache their own stick. Another parent was there to help us make the sticks, as well. It was a MESS, but they had a GREAT time!
