Halloween

Witch's Brew!  A Halloween Staple.

Witch’s Brew
Makes 4 gallons
6 cups white sugar
3 1/3 gallons cold water
1 (2 ounce) bottle root beer extract
4 pounds dry ice

In a large container, mix together the sugar and water, stirring to dissolve sugar completely. Stir in the root beer extract. Carefully place the dry ice into the container (DO NOT TOUCH WITH YOUR HANDS!). The longer it brews, the better it tastes. Enjoy!

Reach for the Stars, Not Drugs!

It's Red Ribbon week, and we are learning to be drug free!
For today's theme, we dressed up as what we wanted to be when we grew up.
Here are a few from our class.

Hailey dressed up as ME, complete with curled hair, a Canada shirt {that's where I'm from} and my microphone!  Ha, too cute!

Two dirt bikers.

And one cute cowboy!

Pumpkin Patch

We were lucky enough to go on a field trip already!  We were invited to a super cute pumpkin patch!

For only $1 we were able to get individual pictures taken:

Class picture with me in the front and Mrs. Plummer {my BFF and our P.E. teacher} in the back.  Parents, I will email you your child's picture and our class picture tomorrow.

Learn about the pumpkin family and how they grow:

Explore the pumpkin patch and go on a scavenger hunt:

Play in a mini straw maze:

And choose our own pumpkin to take home:

Then we came back to school and examined our pumpkins:

I brought a pumpkin back for us to explore even more.  We used an investigation sheet from Mrs. Lee's Kindergarten.  We even counted the seeds.  How many do you think were in there?

THERE WERE 500 SEEDS!!!  It literally took us 30 minutes to count them all.  I did not expect there to be that many.  Next time I will get a smaller pumpkin.  :)

I brought another pumpkin back for us to decorate.  We all decided how it should look, then Mrs. Plummer and decorated it.  What do you think?

The eyes look a little funny from the wet glue...  They look better now.  :)

We had a blast!!

{More pumpkin related activities/printables coming soon!}
